Finding people who can function as suitable leaders to lead organizations is a challenge for many multinational organizations which have to "compete for skilled worker" who can function as a "center's leader with appropriate management skills" (Kar, Subramanian and Saran, 2009). The leader must possess the necessary qualities of building the center through a thorough understanding of the local culture of the country. Literature confirms that "principled leadership" must displace contractual relationships which are based on lack of trust between managers and workers (Sanders, 1997). Management leaders have the daunting task of getting the best of their human resources through their management skills which serve as the vital factor in motivating their employees and increasing the overall productivity of workers (Kar, Subramanian and Saran, 2009). It is therefore extremely essential for mangers to realize the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the employees in the organization and must also know how to motivate them by using the necessary tools including "incentives, job rotation and training" (Kar et al, 2009). Researchers have studied that "frequent and precise" communication and collaboration are important for effective daily operations in organizations since they enable workers to build relationships based on trust (Kar et al, 2009). For managers to be effective, they should have the ability to communicate effectively. It is generally believed that "the best form of communication is written" since it facilitates clear and concise conveyance of massages between the sender and the receiver (Huband, 1992). An excellent example of communication and collaboration to ensure success in an organization is 'Wipro' which is a major IT company with a workforce of about 18,000 engineers who provide outsourcing services to a variety of clients all over the world (Kar et al, 2009). When commencing on a new business venture, Wipro conducts "Boot camps" of about 2 to 3 weeks which function to unite project teams of both sides of the project. This communication helps both sides of the teams to know each other well so that the project can flow smoothly. Wipro then places a senior manager at the client's location to ensure smooth communication of the company's needs and requirements which are further communicated to the workers at the other end of the company. This is an excellent case example of importance of how effective communication and collaboration are used to ensure success of businesses and organizations. Management of a high-powered team is possible by leading the team members effectively and ensuring their involvement in sharing of work responsibilities and the process of making decisions which are vital to the organization. Sanders (1997)states that managing and leading an organizations through sharing is based on the premise that competent employees of organizations are ambitious and require opportunities which will enable them to make decisions which in turn will enhance their commitment to their job better. In this case, the manager is a leader, but functions as a "coach" so that the staff and employees function like a "synergistic team" in which people support one another and function mutually to accomplish success of the organization (Sanders, 1997). A major management perception which senior leadership positions must realize is the crucial difference between management and leadership. Managers vest their authority to manage people whereas effective leaders function as role models and empower their team to work efficiently for the ultimate success of the organization (Huband, 1992). Through effective leadership, leaders "inspire confidence" in their employees and "convey enthusiasm" rather than being autocratic in their approach. Thus it is apparent that managers and their management styles are important for success of organizations through their most important resources-people. Managers must use effective techniques of motivation, communication and leadership for managing employees so that they function for the ultimate common goal of the organization.
